Summary
Surviving a few weeks at the world's most lethal boarding school was one thing. But now comes the real test: Can November Adley find her missing father before her enemies find her? Subterfuge is the name of the game in this thrilling sequel to Killing November, from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of How to Hang a Witch.
After surviving a crash course in espionage at the mysterious Academy Absconditi, November has only one purpose: finding her missing father. Along with fellow student (and heartthrob) Ash, November follows the clues that her father left, embarking on the deadliest treasure hunt of her life. The first clue is in her hometown, where old friends beckon and unexpected enemies lurk around every corner. The second clue is in Europe, where revelations about her family's history will plunge her into an international web of deception, lies, and intrigue. The third clue is deep in enemy territory, surrounded by the most skilled assassins and master strategists, and where everyone wants her and her father dead. Can one girl with limited training infiltrate a centuries-old organization that is powerful enough to topple empires? November only knows that she'll do whatever it takes to save her father . . . or die trying.
Interview
Would you tell us more about the main characters from HUNTING NOVEMBER?
They are smarter than me! Truly. They hurt my head to write. They are brilliant strategists and deception experts – I can’t even tell a lie without ratting myself out ten minutes later. They are talented fighters, imploring everything from knives to poisons – I once shot some arrows at the Renaissance Faire. And so they forced me to work for it. I took a lying class, researched the history of poisons, learned micro-expressions, and studied knife-throwing videos. Then I wrote. Rewrote. And revised until I could do my made-up literary friends justice.
Which character do you most relate to and why?
November because she brings humor to hard situations.
For those new to the series, what should they know?
Hidden boarding school with an eye for an eye punishment system, no internet, and modern secret-society teens who learn everything from poisons to knife throwing.
What tips would November give about surviving as she travels the world following her father’s clues?
Make alliances, barter for secrets, and master deception…but whatever you do, don’t let anyone find out who you are.
Did you find any different challenges in writing book two versus book one?
Sequels are always hard. They need to be the same but different, but not too similar and also not too different. Lol. It was fun, though, getting my characters out of their boarding school and into Europe. However, that choice came with its own set of hurdles. One of the challenges I spent a lot of time thinking about was how to recreate the gloomy medieval school atmosphere in modern day UK. But luckily, the UK is full of medieval architecture. So I wound up sending my characters to gothic inns, apothecaries, blacksmiths, and through fictional hidden markets with secret passageways.
When you reach for a book to read, what genre do you grab and what are some of your favorites in that genre?
Sadly, I don’t have much time to read these days. But when I do reach for a book, I almost always read either a first draft or a final copy of a friend’s work. Mostly YA, and all different genres.
What’s one of your hobbies or something we might not know about you?
A few things most people don’t know about me are that I played rugby in college for three years and went to nationals twice (they nicknamed me rugby Barbie and all thought I wouldn’t last past the first week), I lived in India for a year, and I have a very strange irrational fear of large empty public bathrooms (and have been known to flee them on occasion).
What are you working on next?
A romantic comedy that I am SO excited for! It’s weird not being able to murder people to raise the stakes…lol.

Summary
It’s a school completely off the grid, hidden by dense forest and surrounded by traps. There’s no electricity, no internet, and an eye-for-an-eye punishment system. Classes include everything from Knife-Throwing and Poisons to the Art of Deception and Historical Analysis. And all of the students are children of the world’s most elite strategists—training to become assassins, counselors, spies, and master impersonators. Into this world walks November Adley, who quickly discovers that friends are few in a school where personal revelations are discouraged and competition is everything. When another student is murdered, all eyes turn to November, who must figure out exactly how she fits into the school’s bizarre strategy games before she is found guilty of the crime…or becomes the killer’s next victim.
