I thoroughly enjoyed the other two Steampunk Proper Romances in this series, Beauty and the Clockwork Beast and Kiss of the Spindle. They're all twists off of classic fairy tales. I've been looking forward to this one for some time. Check out my review and enter the giveaway below...

Summary
Hazel Hughes has spent her life believing she is a Medium someone who can talk to ghosts. But as of yet, that skill has remained frustratingly elusive. She is also suffering from a reoccurring childhood dream of someone who looks almost exactly like Hazel, but this dream version of herself is slowly going mad.
Sam MacInnes is a talented surgeon who runs in the highest social circles thanks to his family s position and history. When Sam hires Hazel to assist him with his medical practice, he is immediately drawn to her intelligence, wit, and beauty. Their potential relationship is derailed one evening when a mysterious count arrives in London and reveals to Hazel the truth about her past: she was abducted at birth and her twin sister has fallen dangerously ill.
Hazel agrees to travel to Romania with Count Petrescu in order to save her sister, and Sam insists on accompanying her. The count has secrets, though, and the journey grows more sinister with every mile that draws Hazel closer to her homeland. Even as her feelings for Sam become deeper and more complicated, she fears she might not survive the quest to save her sister with her heart intact, not to mention her life. She must learn to draw on gifts she doesn t know she has if they are going to ever return home again.
Hazel and Sam must fight their way past dark magic, clockwork beasts, and their own insecurities as they try to reach her sister in the impenetrable Coppergate Tower before time runs out.

My Review
THE LADY IN THE COPPERGATE TOWER is a story of suspense and romance that grows in intensity as the story progresses. For Steampunk, historical romance, and paranormal fans who like their stories on the sweet side, with charming characters, plenty of mystery, and a thrilling plot, this is definitely one not to miss!
I loved every minute of this story! For one thing, I simply adored the main characters, Hazel and Sam!! They were both so intelligence and talented, but also not overbearingly conceited. I also loved how they're somewhat star-crossed, but also are first and foremost friends and colleagues. Oh, the dialogue between these two! It was fabulous! I even loved Sam's 'ton, Eugene. It was fun to see cameos from the characters from the prior two books, but you don't need to have read those stories to enjoy this one. I also could see a possible romance between Oliver and Emme in the next book (please, please let there be more books coming!!!).
This story was so mysterious. It started with letting readers time to get to know the two main characters, and then introduced the Count who was shrouded in mystery. As the story unfolds, there are pieces of the puzzle revealed here and there, but it's pretty much a guessing game the whole way through. The suspense just grows and grows, intensifying to a climatic ending. I enjoyed that the romance was slow-building and definitely a strong aspect of the story without taking over the more important mystery and Hazel's quest to save her sister.
My one complaint is that I would have liked a little more information on light and dark magiks as well as vampires and how they are in this storybook world as it seems each fictional Steampunk world is a little different. I also couldn't remember exactly what was explained in prior books, so a little more info would have been nice. However, it didn't affect my enjoyment of this story.
In the end, was it what I wished for? This story held my attention from beginning to end. With fabulous characters, witty banter, intensely-growing mystery, and a sweet, swoon-worthy romance set in a Steampunk world... there was nothing more I could ask for. Highly recommended!
Content: Some violence, but would consider this clean.
