Weekly Update #388, fall break is over...

Welcome to my Weekly Update where I share what's been going on and what's coming up!

We've been fairly lazy this last week with the four kids off of school. It didn't feel like a real break because three of them still had assignments their teachers gave over the break (some assigned during the week that we didn't find about until the kids checked). This always frustrates me, especially now with COVID when school has already been crazy and I feel like we truly needed a break. I don't understand the thought behind assigning work during a school break, especially when a lot of families actually go out of town and the kids can't do work. Anyway, we also fit in some doctor appointments and other things so that the kids didn't have to miss any school for them. Monday is back to the new normal.

I wish is was a bit cooler here. The past two years we've had much hotter temperatures extending farther into fall and winter. We finally got below 100 today, but the forecast still shows us hitting 100 two days this coming week. Normally we would be in the 80s with maybe a few 90s, so we're quite a bit above the norm. It makes it hard to go outside to do things with the kids when so many places are still closed or we don't want to be around a lot of people.
